Creator partnerships just became a core line item, not an experiment

Brands are folding influencer marketing into their core strategy rather than treating it as a side test, with most marketers expecting creator budgets to grow sharply this year.

Influencer marketing has moved from a side experiment to a standard part of brand budgets, according to new industry survey data.

Nearly three-quarters of marketers surveyed expect their creator budgets to grow by at least fifty percent this year. Brands built around wellness and lifestyle categories are cited as early examples of companies treating creator partnerships as a core channel rather than a one-off campaign.

The shift tracks a broader change in how people discover products: audiences increasingly trust individual creators over polished institutional messaging, and social platforms let smaller accounts reach real audiences without a traditional media budget.

The trend brings its own pressure. As creator budgets grow, marketers are asking harder questions about return on spend, and some of the biggest influencers risk becoming exactly the kind of institutional voice audiences were tired of in the first place.
